RARE ~ GORGEOUS VINTAGE SIGNED G. NOTO 14K GOLD FINELY CARVED SHELL CAMEO BROOCH/PENDANT.
Circa Early 1900's ~ Italy

This large, exquisitely carved shell cameo depicts a pair of lovers sitting on a bench under a tree, mounted in a 14k handcrafted intricate setting.
History:    Born in 1902, Giovanni Noto won his first engraving competition at the early age of 17 he. Soon after he earned the title of the official Master carver for the Royal Italian house. He worked from 1947 until his death in 1985. Noto trained many carvers to take on his style. Carvers graduate with the title of Master carver after their training is complete & the studio still remains active to this day.
