    Chordate phylum Bone fish class Wolffin A genus of fish order, the ancient name stone fish. The head is large, the vertebral body is cylindrical, the middle part is slightly contracted, and the vertebral body is pierced by the notochord. The pectoral fin is large, the origin of the dorsal fin and the anal fin are opposite, and the dorsal fin is smaller than or similar to the anal fin. Fork-shaped tail, with the last vertebra rising. At present, only one species of Lycoptera woodwardi (Lycoptera woodwardi) has been found in the upper part of the Early Cretaceous Zhidan Group in Shiyugou, Caobi Town, Qianyang.
    Wolffin fish are mainly distributed in northern China. It is the largest number of fish in Beipiao City in western Liaoning, China. It is one of the most widely distributed fishes in China. The wolffin fish is generally well-preserved and is buried in situ in a still water environment. Judging from the dense burial of fossils, the fish seems to have the habit of swimming in groups. Wolffin fish are primitive bony fishes with many species. They are endemic fish in East Asia during the late Mesozoic era. According to relevant information, it is now extinct. Primitive bony fishes belong to the super order Bonefish. The wolffin fish is mainly distributed in the Yixian Formation in western Liaoning. The fish is a freshwater fish unique to East Asia in the late Mesozoic era. It is widely distributed in the waters of Siberia, Mongolia, Korea and northern my country. It is a major member of the Jehol biota. Fossils of wolffin fish are generally well preserved and are buried in situ in a still water environment.
