Description
Tiny Tears by American Character in the largest size fo 20”Her rubber body and caracul wig date her between 1956-1958 the 2nd issue of the doll
She has a hard plastic head with rubber scull cap. The edge of her scull cap is exposed but some restyling of her hair might cover it. It looks like every plug has some hair in it, although a few may be sparse.
Her sleep eyes have tilted on the access , the left eye tend to roll back into her head and as a result the eyelashes on that side have been flattened. It appear someone tried to force it back into place but scraped her eyelid while doing so. I applied some wax to the eyelid to fill in where the missing paint was and attempt to help the eye stop before rolling back into her head. The 2nd goal did not work. If you mess with her and very gently set her up you can get the eye to not go so far back but the slightest bump and it’s rolls right back. The wax on her eyelid could be easily scraped away if desired.
The whites of her eyes have yellowed with age.
Her rubber body is fragile and she is missing a right pointer finger (a recent loss- but It didn’t happen on my watch).
There are other stress marks on the body, most notably on her pinky finger on the left side and on her legs. She should be handled with great care.
All said her rubber body is still in better shape than most that I’ve found.
Tiny Tears is a Drink Wet and Cry Baby Doll with holes in the appropriate places.
She comes wearing the pink gingham dress and bonnet shown and some hand made undies underneath.
She has nylon socks and modern (80s-90s) pink patent shoes. The glue has yellowed on soles both and sole is loose at the tip of one shoe.
She is a heavy doll, weighing over 3lbs before packing.
