The Chilsung [seven stars] floating in the sky looks remarkably close to each other in the northern hemisphere.  In the west, these seven stars called the Big Digger. Because they are huge goblets with long handles.
This Chilsung Saingeom has featured the seven stars carved on one side of the blade and 24 Sanskrit words on another side. This legendary Chilsung Saingeom is known to chase away evil ghosts, which was given to Royals and Military Generals by the kings in the Chosun Dynasty period.

History of Saingeom:
In the Joseon dynasty, exorcising swords called ‘Saingeom’ were produced under the leadership of the royal family. Originally the purpose of an ordinary sword was to defend oneself or defeat enemies, but they were made to drive the ghost away, not for killing. After considering all the factors, it is thought that the sword was made for a symbolic purpose.
Ancient people believed that invisible evil spirits existed in their lives. At that time, it was thought that the ghosts caused unexpected disasters, so they were interested in some kinds of exorcism in order to protect themselves from the evil spirits.
After completing the sword, a religious service was performed with alcohol, fruit, white chickens, and incense and candles on the altar.
Process of Artwork:
Using traditional Japanese
discipline
and the strict guideline, the blade [kitae] was forged by Jun Gi [Japanese famed swordsmith]. Jun Gi is an apprentice of famed swordsmith Kunimasa Matsuba of Miyazaki prefecture.
Cleaning the blade to make sure it is free of oil and impurities and then applies the special clay mixture [Yakibatsuchi] to the blade, which makes hamon by [*Lee SeungHO]. *He is Korea's top sword artisan for over 30 years
of experience.
[
Yakibatsuchi] is the polishing stone powder ash or charcoal powder.
The blade is then heated up to 720~780 degrees and is quenched in water, which rapidly cools the edge to form martensite [the hardest type of steel]
and slowly cools the body due to its thicker clay coating and forming ferrite and pearlite [softer and more flexible].
Basic togi [polishing] is then performed, along with any carvings/ personalizations to the body of the blade.  Nakago [tang] is polished and the swordsmith's signature [Lee SeungHo] carved.
The blade is then handed over to our togishi [polisher], who uses multiple polishing stones to refine our Saingeom. The gold-laid blade is prepared to carve the seven stars on one side of the blade and 24 Sanskrit words on another side.
This traditional Chosun Dynasty Chilsung Saingeom is decorated with premium-quality brass fittings by the skilled hand crafted. The scabbard is painted with the gloss high-quality
purple lacquer varnish wood tone.
