Vintage 1950s 19" American Character Tiny Tears Doll with Caracul Wig Original Signature Romper & Pink and white Dress
.
1950s, American Character Tiny Tears doll, wearing her original pink and white cotton  romper with Tiny Tears across the front. She also has her original lace trimmed, pink and white dress and baby bottle - baby bottle not pictured.
19" with a rubber body and hard plastic head, blue working sleep eyes, thick, brush lashes, painted lower lashes, feathered brows, lightly blushed cheeks, open mouth for baby bottle,  holes near eyes for tears to come out, thick, curly original brown Caracul wig. Jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips.
CONDITION.
Good, played with condition. Hair is thick. Face paint is original and very good. She has a nose rub and some marks on her face from play and from her wig. Clear working sleep eyes with all their brush lashes, Body is good - free of a lot of deep cracks or breaks, stains, bites or gouges. Body has light cracks and has turned darker than her head. Perfect fingers and toes. She has a crack in the plastic of her head on one side (picture #5.) Her right arm (left arm in pics) was off and I wired it back on putting a spring in to attach it. It is sturdy but delicate. The arm does still move in the socket. All her other joints move with care. Head turns and crack does not seem to affect it.
Dress and romper are original and in good condition. Clothing has light over all play and age soil. Buttons on romper are original. Tie strings on romper are good and not frayed. Dress is free of rips or large stains. One button in back has been replaced. (picture # 12.)
